How important is effective communication in the parent-child relationship?

A good relationship is built on effective communication. Have you ever ended a relationship because of misunderstandings caused by poor communication? Or when you're talking to your children or loved ones and find yourself in rational conflict or despair.

Having conflicts throughout the day because of communication is not the way we want it to be.
